"‘The latter glory of this house will be greater than the former,’ says the LORD of hosts, ‘and in this place, I shall give [the ultimate] peace and prosperity,’ declares the LORD of hosts." Haggai 2:9 AMP
Have these last few weeks made you feel like it's trying to squeeze the very life out of you? The season's unstable temperatures, to wear a jacket or a parka…so much uncertainty. Sounds like life itself, right? It seems the deeper I desire to go and the harder I run after God, the more obstacles I run into. But, I want to encourage you to forget last week. Look at it as the rubble left behind. As a matter of fact, include it in a pile we will call the "past."
In Haggai chapter 2, God sent the prophet Haggai to ask three questions to Zerubbabel, who was a high priest, and the remnant of people (we are a part of that remnant). The Lord inquired how the people saw their past, the present, and the future. When God asks a question he already knows the answer and he’s giving us a chance, to be honest with him and ourselves. Ask yourself, what's that thing you are holding onto from your past? How do you see your life right now (present)? Do you see your future half full or half empty?
Don't worry about those that are standing and watching to count you out during this process; it's only an account for your testimony. We are instructed to be courageous and continue to do good works because God is with us and we need not fear. In just a little while, God is going to shake the heavens, earth, sea, and dry land to fill our houses with precious things of all nations, glory, and splendor. (Sounds like a mind-blowing experience.) Our future will be greater than our past and we shall have peace and prosperity.
In closing, no longer look at yourself as who you were or by your current situation, but with the understanding, you are in the process of being built for the glory to manifest. Just...Wait for it!
Prayer:
God forgive me for not seeing myself through your eyes. I am not my "situation" or bound by my past. In an act of faith, I will be who you purposed me to be and not allow my situation to hinder me. I take another step over my past to access the plans you predestined me to fulfill. I will wait only on you. Give me instructions for my next step.
@lyonsnicole69 When we are in the process of transition we can't take a lot of baggage or weights into this new place because simple put God is trying to manifest that latter glory. Moving from glory to glory is good but the process to me is like labor pains with back pain but when we gird ourself in the Word and keep our eyes on the promise it makes it so worth. Hang in there and keep your eye on the promise because all things work together for them that love God and are called according to HIS PURPOSE!.
Yes, this holds true for me. The last few weeks have been crazy or som foolish. Praying and asking God to make sense of what is really going on. But one thing I do know is that 1 Cor 1:27; God is in control and He uses the foolish things of the world to confound the wise... I have assurance that somewhere in my future I look a whole lot better. 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙏🏽❤️
