The Dangers in Leaning
One day, I decided to take the scenic route through the countryside. It's a sight to behold, the amazing handy work of God. As I passed through the familiar territory, I saw how the land was bare from trees being harvested, but I saw a beautiful mountain full of foliage that I had never seen. Then there was a tiny storage building behind a home that was leaning. I thought that was dangerous, someone could get hurt if it were to fall on them. Wouldn't you agree? Who would want to be in or around a leaning building?
Have you ever wondered how Holy Spirit feels when we become the leaning building in the spirit realm? We are told to “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. [a]”. Proverbs 3:5-6
We truly grieve Holy Spirit when we try to figure everything out. Then after we've made a mess and worked ourselves into a ball of confusion, He has to come to fix it and US. We are told to trust, lean not, submit, and He will make our path straight. God doesn't like leaning, crooked or curved nothing because He always makes things STRAIGHT!
Like the hymnal so eloquently goes ”Lord, I'm leaning, leaning safe and secure from all alarms. Leaning, leaning, leaning on the everlasting arm”.
Be encouraged and cast your cares upon the Lord because he cares for you. Remember the order, TRUST, LEAN NOT, SUBMIT and your path will be STRAIGHT!!
