Pick Your Blue

Being a North Carolinian there is an understanding, you have to pick your blue. What blue, Carolina blue or Duke blue. We give grace to those who chose neither because they are not part of 2022 Final Four, nor the Championship 2022 -maybe next year. Don’t stop reading and miss the blessing in the message.

The rivalry of last night’s game is one that will have you in your feelings because of the back and forth in the unknowing of what the end results will be. Is not this just like life? There are seasons in life when we are up seven points and then the devil comes back and scores. He capitalizes on your missed shots, free throws, and failed rebounds. But that’s ok.

Be encouraged, Coach Apostle James (Jesus’s disciple) called a timeout for those that feel they are losing at this game called life. When you feel, that life has whipped you up one side and down the other, listen to the coach. Imagine Coach James has called a time-out and you are on the bench. He provides you with a drink of refreshing living water and then gives you this pep talk.

From the playbook of the Apostle James 1:2-4 “Don’t run from tests and hardships, brothers and sisters. As difficult as they are, you will ultimately find joy in them; if you embrace them, your faith will blossom under pressure and teach you true patience as you endure. And true patience brought on by endurance will equip you to complete the long journey and cross the finish line—mature, complete, and wanting nothing.” Do you feel refreshed and empowered now?

Now, get back into the game and play! Remember, we win no matter what it might look or feel like. Jesus is our Life Coach and the only coach who knows your ending before the beginning! There is no need to get in your feelings because of all the plays the devil has set in place for your failure, God has the defensive and offensive play to crush it. Read God's playbook, also known as the Holy Bible. His playbook is so elaborate, it will make the best of playbooks appear as a kindergarten scribble board.

One last reminder from the coach of all coaches, Jesus, “I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace. In the world, you have tribulation and distress and suffering, but be courageous [be confident, be undaunted, be filled with joy]; I have overcome the world.” [My conquest is accomplished, My victory abiding.]” John 16:33

Reminder:

Never see yourself as defeated when you feel the enemy winning, remind yourself the victory is already yours. Get back up and fight to the end. Your Championship ring is waiting for you!
