Hope In God

Have you ever had those moments in life you felt like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz? Sometimes the Yellow Brick road in life can be hidden by dirt, weeds, and underbrush. Somehow in those moments you see a glimpse of the yellow and know you are on the right path. Then there are those other seasons where we are walking and hoping for the best.
You are not alone, the author of Psalms 43:3 wrote, Send out your light and your truth; let them guide me. Let them lead me to your holy mountain, to the place where you live. This might be your plea right now. The enemy was oppressing the author of Psalm 43 there was a moment of vulnerability but after they processed through what was happening they reminded themselves “Hope in God and wait expectantly for Him, for I shall again praise Him, The help of my [sad] countenance and my God.”
“The word hope in the New Testament is from the Greek word elpis. According to Strong's Concordance, elpis means expectation, trust, and confidence. It comes from the root word elpo, which means to anticipate (with pleasure) and to welcome.”
Stir up hope, stand in expectation, trust, and have confidence in the Lord. “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28.
Meditation:
My hope is not a work I must do. My hope is dependent upon my faith in an all-knowing God. I will stand in expectation, trust, and confidence in God. I will follow the path that is set before me. I am guided by your light and truth. It is so in Jesus the Christ name.
